Bocconi Sport Team has been crowned 2026 Italian Men’s Field Lacrosse Champion after defeating the Bologna Sharks 15–7 in the national final held in Reggio Emilia on May 17.
The game was largely decided in the opening stages. A strong and determined start saw Bocconi race to a 4–0 lead, establishing control from the very beginning. The team finished the first quarter ahead 6–2, extended the margin to 11–3 by halftime, and entered the final period leading 13–4 before closing out a convincing 15–7 victory.
Offensively, the success was built on a collective effort. Abbott, returning for the final stages of the season, led the scoring with four goals. Brusamarello, Leonardi, and Rozins each added three goals, while Rozins also contributed an assist. Gennari recorded one goal and three assists, and Garibbo finished with one goal and one assist.
The championship victory crowns an exceptional season in which Bocconi established itself as the leading team in the competition. The team finished with the league’s best goal differential (+61) and featured the championship’s top three scorers: Brusamarello with 17 goals, Leonardi with 16, and Garibbo with 14. Defensively, Bocconi also recorded the strongest defensive performances in the league throughout the season.
Beyond the statistics, this title reflects the dedication, hard work, and commitment shown by players, coaches, and staff throughout the year. It is the result of months of preparation, continuous improvement, and a shared ambition that united the entire group.
