From March 28th to April 2nd, Lodovico De Ferrari and Matteo Rodella, first-year students in the Bachelor in International Economics and Management (BIEM), competed in the Italian National Youth Swimming Championships in Riccione, delivering excellent individual performances.

  • Lodovico swam the 50m butterfly in 24.14, improving his personal best by 0.50 seconds and finishing 12th in Italy, and recorded a 23.00 in the 50m freestyle, placing 18th.
  • Matteo swam a 4:23.88 in the 400m individual medley (17th place), and closed with a new personal best of 2:14.22 in the 200m breaststroke, finishing 13th nationally.

These results reflect the team’s progress and the dedicated work carried out in recent months under coach Marco Bonassisa.

As Professor Carlo Altomonte, head of Bocconi Sport’s Aquatic Division, noted:
“Three years ago, our dream was to have at least one student qualify for the National Championships. Today, that dream has come true.”

Next stop: the Italian Summer Championships in August, where Giovanni Garetto will also compete.
