The finals of the Milan University Championships took place at Centro Sportivo Cambini Fossati, Milan on Saturday June 15th. That day the Bocconi spotlight was for the tennis teams, both men’s and women’s, who stepped on court to get the crown of Milan University Champion.

The women’s tennis team started its path to the title with Bianca Cavalieri on court for the semifinals, who cruised past Bicocca Grigia with the score of 6-0 6-0. The run for the title was eventually completed by Alice Agazzi, who won the final match against Bicocca Bianca with a decisive 6-0 6-2. The team, composed of Alice Agazzi, Bianca Cavalieri, Rachele Paloschi, Andra Popescu Birlan and Letizia Canclini, has succesfully defended its title conquered in the past season and has confirmed the dominance displayed on court throughout the regular season, without lacking composure and clarity when it mattered.

Same start for the men’s tennis team, with Tommaso Lucattini closing the deal agains Bicocca Bianca with a quick 6-0 6-3. Setback for Simone Resmini instead, who couldn’t overcome Politecnico’s resistance in the final and lost 6-1 6-2. Nevertheless, the performance has been remarkable, with the team composed of Tommaso Lucattini, Vasileios Tsagkanos, Simone Resmini, Giovanni Canova and Kaito Kitakami dominating the regular season ranking and offering a very interesting starting point for the next season.

Our compliments also go to the team manager Ana Jelena Vujosevic and the coach Diego Cagnoni, who have guided the athletes throughout the season and have proved to be essential for the success of the new tennis team project at Bocconi University.
